Epoxy Plated Block Neodymium Grade N35 Rare Earth Magnets – 60 x 10 x 5mm, N35 “Black KitKag”

Have a break, have a KitKag!
While this longish looking bar of black magnet may look remotely similar to a chocolate bar, we caution against taking a bite out of it as the first thing to break maybe your pearly white teeth.

Epoxy plated rectangle neodymium magnets N35, a.k.a. rare earth magnets are ideal for outdoor usage where it is exposed to rain or wet environment. This black epoxy plating offers better water and humid resistant compared to similar Nickel-Copper-Nickel plated neodymium magnets.

Although all neodymium magnets share the same characteristic of strong magnetic attraction force and brittle nature, which sometimes causes them to break on high impact collision with another magnet or even metal objects, some shapes and sizes are more prone to breakage than others. This particularly long and rather slim shaped rectangle rare earth magnet at N35 grade is among the type that breaks quite easily. The visible reason that causes this magnet to break on collision is its length with a narrow profile. Its thickness of 5mm means that this magnet has relatively strong pull force compared to other magnets with 2mm or less thickness. Hence, do take care when separating or handling neodymium magnets, always holding each piece firmly such that the separated piece does not accidentally slip from your hands and “jump” back to collide with the remaining stack of magnets.

The magnet tendency to break is greatly reduced once the magnet is installed/secured/glued to a base or better still, covered with duct tape/fabric/thin cardboard etc as these will soften the impact by reducing/absorbing some of the forces.

Attaching a piece of ferrous metal to any magnet increases the magnetic field/strength on the opposite side of the magnet as the ferrous metal will deflect the magnetic field on its side and channel it to the other side. An example: If you attached a sheet of ferrous metal to the north pole of a magnet, the strength of its south pole will be increased.
